underage drinking

Course Highlight: Under the Influence

Under the Influence is a personalized, interaction alcohol intervention course that works for adults and juveniles in courts, high schools, and colleges.

Under the Influence alcohol intervention is geared toward individuals with high-risk drinking or alcohol violations, such as underage drinking, driving under the influence, or public intoxication. The course includes multiple lessons addressing alcohol's effects on health, drinking and driving, state-specific laws, and alcohol/prescription interactions.

More Than "Just Say No"

With Spring Break coming up, the likelihood that underage individuals will be exposed to drinking increases. While young adults probably know about the dangers of drinking, standing up to peer pressure is hard. They want to fit in. They don't want to be the only person not drinking. Empty School Hallway

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, 13% of the 8th graders, 14% of the 10th graders, and 15% of the 12th graders were absent at least three days a month. Routine unexcused absences (truancies) can be signs of problems at home and/or school. Preventing truancies can help prevent other behaviors like dropping out of school or breaking the law.
